Don Doyle's watercolors of old
North Reading and Reading, MA inspired by photographs
of old North
Reading.
Don Doyle is an artist and graphic
designer. When he found the photographs tucked away
in the library's Local History Room, he was inspired
to turn some of them into watercolor paintings. To do
this, he imagined color and texture and so gave new
life to old scenes of the town.
Don Doyle is a member of the Reading
Art Association and the North Shore Art Association.
He has studied with Fran Nola and at the Museum School.
He has provided calligraphy, illustration and design
for Boston area clients since he graduated from Mass
College of Art in 1972.
The photos are all in black and
white, but the watercolors are all...well, in color.
